Privacy Policy
Privacy, plainly.
Heyday is built to remember the people you choose, not to collect more than it needs.
Effective: May 18, 2026
What Heyday stores
- People you manually add or selectively import, including name, phone number, relationship type, reminder level, and optional notes.
- Heydays you save for those people, including occasion type, month/day, reminder settings, and handled status.
- Message history only when you mark a message as sent, including the message body, tone, send source, and sent time.
- Basic app preferences such as message voice, notification settings, and onboarding state.
- Limited product-analytics events to understand whether the core flow works, such as onboarding completed, import completed, notification tapped, or message screen opened.
What Heyday does not do
- Heyday does not import your full address book.
- Heyday does not read your text messages, iMessages, DMs, email, or call history.
- Heyday does not auto-send SMS, iMessage, or messages in other apps. You always tap send yourself.
- Heyday does not sell personal data.
- Heyday does not use third-party advertising SDKs or ad networks.
Contacts
- If you use contact import, Heyday shows your contacts so you can choose who to bring in.
- Only contacts you select and save are stored.
- If a selected contact has a birthday or labeled date in iOS Contacts, Heyday may suggest turning it into a Heyday before saving.
- Contacts without a date are not saved until you add at least one Heyday or choose to skip them.
Messages
- Heyday creates message ideas locally from built-in copy.
- When you send, Heyday opens the iOS Messages app or the iOS share sheet with your selected text.
- You stay in control and tap send yourself.
- Heyday stores message history only after you confirm that you sent or marked a message as sent.
Notifications
- Heyday uses local notifications for reminders.
- Notification content may include a person's name and occasion, which can appear on your lock screen depending on your iPhone settings.
- Notification taps include internal IDs so Heyday can open the right message screen.
Accounts and storage
- Heyday starts with anonymous Supabase authentication so you can try the app quickly.
- You can connect Apple ID in Settings to link that identity to the same private Heyday account.
- Your saved people, Heydays, and message history are stored in Supabase under your private app account.
- Local preferences such as message voice are stored on your device.
- Supabase row-level security ensures each user can only access their own rows.
Subscriptions and payments
- Heyday Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. Heyday does not see your payment details.
- Subscription status is checked via Apple's StoreKit framework on your device.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- For tax and billing inquiries related to your subscription, contact Apple Support.
Analytics
- Heyday records a small set of product-analytics events in Supabase to understand whether the core flow works.
- Analytics do not include names, phone numbers, message bodies, contact identifiers, or full contact details.
- Analytics include safe counts and state such as selected contact count, imported count, notification permission result, and send channel.
Your choices
- You can choose whether to grant contacts access.
- You can choose whether to allow notifications.
- You can choose whether to connect Apple ID.
- You can clear all Heyday data from Settings at any time. This permanently deletes your people, Heydays, and message history from Supabase.
- You can change message voice in Settings.
Children
- Heyday is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
- If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
- If this policy changes meaningfully, we will update the effective date above and surface the update in-app.
- Continued use of Heyday after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Contact
- For privacy questions, requests, or feedback, contact Nathan Butcher at n8butcher@gmail.com.
Heyday is made with care by a small team. We keep what helps you remember the people you care about, and nothing else.
